Transport Coordinator - Out of Hours

Job summary

Your remit will be to assist the Transport and Logistics Manager/Assistant Transport and Logistics Manager to provide the efficient and effective operational running of the Transport Service. This will mean taking ownership of all Courier activity in order to ensure optimum utilisation at minimum cost and building strong links with the Issue Department to ensure timely delivery of products to hospitals.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will be required to :- Work as a key member of the team at an NHSBT location undertaking local centre, regional and national tasks. Undertake operational work planning and application of organisational service provision of NHSBT. Work as part of the transport department operational team assisting in the efficient and effective operational running of the Transport and Logistics services. Undertake responsibility for all Courier activity to ensure cost efficiencies Build strong links with Hospital Services Departments to ensure timely delivery of products to hospitals Work with digital and IT packages, including a Transport Management System You may be required to participate in a rotered variable working shift pattern that can include 24/7 working.

  • Diploma in Transport & Logistics or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Diploma in Supervisory Management or equivalent demonstrable experience.
  • Willingness to undertake development and training as required.
  • Good standard of general education.

  • Excellent geographical knowledge of the National Road network.
