Job summary
You will lead and motivate a team of Healthcare Assistants and Donor Care Supervisor(s) to provide and deliver a high standard of personal care. You will use your clinical judgement to make decisions about donor suitability to meet our regulatory and governance requirements. Your duties will include:-
- Taking clinical responsibility for ensuring the safe assessment and blood donation of our donors Being accountable for the safe running of a blood donation session
- Taking responsibility for ensuring an excellent donor experience
- Maintaining the competency and skills of your team and yourself
- Being able to adapt communication styles for difficult conversations
- Maintaining your professional development to help us deliver improvements to our practice
You will be required to work variable hours in order to lead at different blood collection sessions, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Night shifts are not required in this role
Main duties of the job
Were looking for someone to lead a team of Donor Carers and Donor Care Supervisors. Your job will be to keep the team motivated, trained, and ready to give excellent care. We rely on a positive and motivated team to deliver excellent customer service, so our donors come back time and time again. Thats where you come inyoull be their role model, supporting and developing them to reach their full potential. Your job will be to keep the team happy, confident, and trained, all while making sure they provide the best possible care. Youll also help create a great working environment, offer guidance and training, and step in when any issues come up. The relationship and trust we build with our donors is importantwe have to make sure every donation is safe for the donor and safe to transfuse. Youll use your clinical judgement to decide if someones able to donate, based on their health and medical history. Even if someone cant donate, its just as important that they feel valued and encouraged to come back again. Youll lead by example, using different leadership styles to bring out the best in your team. We care about our donors and the quality of what we do, and that means youll play a big role in helping your team deliver a safe, smooth, and positive donation experience every time.
