Job summary
As a vital member of our warehouse team at Borehamwood, you will be providing a professional service receiving and despatching a range of consumable items to ensure we are able to collect, process and issue Blood and Blood products on time.
The role will be undertaking tasks to assist the warehouse manager in the smooth operation of the warehouse operation and will also have responsibilities for picking customer orders accurately with a clear understanding of FIFO, LIFO & lot number control, input stock & non stock items into the warehousing computerised system. You will also be required to manually handle stock into and out of locations following good manual handling techniques.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will assist the Warehouse Manager in all aspects of the efficient and effective management of the warehouse operations, contributing to optimising the overall supply chain of NHSBT. Your responsibilities will include :-
Day to day operation of the Warehouse
Allocating staff to work areas based on levels of activity
Receiving and booking into computerised stock control system for all orders delivered to the warehouse
Reacting to unexpected customer and supplier requirements to minimise any service compromises and updating customers on progress
Ensuring the smooth and safe operation of warehouse activities raising any areas of concern to the Warehouse Manager
Deputising for the Warehouse Manager as a when required
