Join NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) organ donation and transplantation to be part of a mission-driven team managing a critical programme aimed at enhancing organ donation and transplantation services.
We are looking for a capable individual who is passionate about making a difference and ready to lead a digital transformation as the Programme Manager.
In this permanent role, you will lead the strategic planning, communication, delivery and benefits realisation of large-scale digital projects that will have a profound impact on transplant services and patients lives.
Collaborating closely with the accountable executive, programme board and product centre agile teams you will have a proven track record in managing change programmes, preferably in digital healthcare or a related field.
You will have an innovative, problem-solving approach, with strong stakeholder management skills and experience in implementing risk management and governance processes. By being part of a passionate, enthusiastic, supportive, and high performing team, you will build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will contribute to life-saving work, where every day promises diversity and excitement.
Main duties of the job
To manage a programme of related digital projects from inception through to completion, to ensure timely and successful product delivery for achieving strategic business benefits through;
- Programme planning, management and support.
- Managing internal resources and external suppliers and consultants,
Ensuring that Programme budget, resources and deliverables are tightly linked to the achievement of strategic benefits
Leading and facilitating on planning, structuring, reporting and execution
- Ensuring adherence to NHSBT programme and project policy and standards
Continuous improvement of the NHSBT Portfolio, Programme and Project Management tools and methods

- A degree in an appropriate discipline (e.g. business, management, information systems) and Post-graduate level specialist qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience in one of the above specialist areas or similar.
- Practitioner Certificate in PRINCE 2 or equivalent qualification.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Project.
- Thorough knowledge of other Office Automation packages, in particular Microsoft Word, Excel and Visio.
- Demonstrate commitment to own Continued Professional Development (CPD).
