Job summary
Youll be joining the Data Security, Privacy and Records Management Team as it embarks upon its most ambitious programme of change yet. You will have responsibility for leading on the Records Management Framework and Strategy to contribute to embedding Privacy and Security by Design for the organisation. As well as ensuring that all records (paper and digital) are managed according to legislation, regulation and good practice.
Leading on all matters of disclosure and legal compliance. You will have the opportunity to gain in depth knowledge of all the amazing work NHSBT does and support those who support us.
You will equally have the opportunity to support, develop and establish new processes within the wider Information Governance strategic agenda, advising colleagues and other members of the team on additional Data Privacy and Information Governance remits.
Reporting directly to the Head of Data Privacy, you will gain experience and development as a senior member of the team and will have the opportunity to collaborate and advise across all NHSBT directorates to support the organisation to save and improve lives.
Main duties of the job
Responsibilities include:
Assisting the Data Security, Privacy, and Records Management Team with daily implementation and compliance of NHSBTs data security and privacy programs.
Providing specialist advice on complex national legislation and NHSBT policies to staff.
Coordinating responses to advice and guidance requests from internal staff and external organizations.
Supporting the Records Manager in developing and implementing a records management strategy and training program.
Leading the team in managing and responding to information requests and complaints
Maintaining information systems related to records management, including incident and breach reporting.
Updating and promoting data security, privacy, and records management policies.
Supporting the management of action and improvement plans for the Data Security and Protection Toolkit
Enhancing staff awareness of information governance and data privacy programs.
You will be required to travel and spend time away from base on an ad-hoc basis, and this may involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice.
