Job summary

NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) collects over 7,000 blood donations every day, providing vital blood and blood products that help to save and improve the lives of thousands of people every year. Our team provides a welcoming and special environment for our volunteer donors, ensuring they receive exceptional, first-class care.

As a Donor Records Clerical Officer, you would be responsible for managing the changes and amendments to donor details. Your day-to-day duties will involve inputting information on to our database regarding donor registration, overseeing donor record transfers, archiving and producing routine medical correspondence. This is a great opportunity to join an expanding team working for a lifesaving organisation.

Main duties of the job

You will be part of a dedicated team responsible for managing the changes and amendments to donor details using our bespoke IT system (Pulse).

You will be responsible for the continuous improvement in the quality of the donor database and ensure the production of clinical correspondence.

You will be responsible for Donor Record archiving by preparing records for archiving ensuring that collection dates are met.

You will be responsible for ensuring that information relating to donor records is safeguarded in accordance with data protection and information governance guidelines, maintaining confidentially at all times.

You will be responsible for the safety of blood donations by reviewing Donor Health Check information to identify discretionary testing and key clinical data.

Please note that this role requires working from Tuesday to Saturday, with Saturday shifts paid at an enhanced rate.
