As a key member of the expanding Plasma Collections Team, this role is pivotal in delivering excellence across strategic and operational planning, performance management, budgeting, and workforce development. With a strong emphasis on staff engagement, safety, equality, cost-effectiveness, and donor experience, you will play a leading role in shaping the future of plasma collection operations. In this role you will oversee the safe and efficient collection of plasma, achieving ambitious national targets through effective collaboration across multiple functions to ensure seamless operations. You will also drive business development, standardise best practices, and implement continuous service improvements to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and service quality. This leadership role requires managing and inspiring a team of Plasma Operational Managers, fostering motivation to achieve a high-performance culture and cultivate an inclusive and positive workplace. You will have an key role in transformational change initiatives, promoting innovation, and ensuring team engagement at all levels. Main duties of the job

Accountable to the Assistant Director Plasma Operations, leading on the direct delivery for the safe and efficient collection of Plasma. Responsible for delivery of national plasma collection targets and responsible for working effectively with Donor Experience, Clinical and Nursing colleagues to meet key performance Indicators. Lead and implement the long-term strategic business development and improvement plans of all Plasma Collection activities. Directly lead and manage the team of Plasma Operational Managers, providing collaborative leadership, vision, coordination, and direction for the effective and efficient ways of working across the Plasma Collection Operations Collaborate effectively, working closely with other functions and key stakeholders including Donor Experience, Blood Supply, QA, DDTS, Finance, Clinical, and Trade Unions representatives. Responsible for ensuring the correct governance and communication frameworks are in place for managing clinical and operational risks and issues. Responsible for proactively setting, monitoring, and reporting on plasma collections operations through the building of robust stakeholder management and performance planning. Responsible for the establishment of standardised best practice across the whole of Plasma Collections, through use of process mapping and criticality analysis, ensuring development of national procedures for processes and systems.
