The work of NHS Blood & Transplant (NHSBT) impacts on huge proportion of the population. Every month, we gather thousands of units of blood for transfusion purposes, and we work tirelessly to enable the retrieval and transportation of organs and tissues to the optimal patient. Main duties of the job

Taking responsibility for managing large budgets and reporting for a high profile major programme within the Blood Technology Product Centre, you will be responsible for ensuring the work we do is appropriately governed, aligned to organisation programme management methodologies and most importantly, ensure we report accurately on progress to various boards including the NHSBT board and Department of Health and Social Care.

Our major programmes are the delivery vehicle through which we will realise the blood technology strategy, they will be responsible for supporting the delivery of highly complex technology change to national critical applications and associated technologies that will future proof the UK blood supply chain. It is therefore critical we accurately and consistently manage our budgets, progress reporting and stay on top of any risks and issues that may arise for which your role is essential.

Outside of the portfolio, you will be engaged with the wider programme management community to ensure our portfolio continues to be aligned to organisation programme management methodologies and you will be tasked with continuously looking for ways we can improve the way we work and our alignment.

As a key member of our programme team, we are looking for you to utilise your experience to support the management of a number of high profile programmes. We expect you to be well versed in project and delivery management methodologies (both agile, waterfall, product focused) and ideally have a related qualification or degree to underpin your practical experience.

  • Cabinet Office (OGC) PRINCE 2 Practitioner certification or industry standard equivalent qualification.
