Job summary

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop your administrative skills.

You will work independently and exercise your discretion to develop best practice in a department that is committed to continuous improvement and team working.

Working within the directorate, youll have the opportunity to engage with a diverse range of people, while focusing on developing a digital filing process. There will also be further opportunities to develop other skills within the department.

Main duties of the job

In this role, you will support the Pathology department with ongoing creation of digital records for new patients and donors, while archiving all old records of patients/donors in accordance with data protection policies and guidelines. Typically, these duties will involve:

  • Providing administrative support to both H&I and RCI departments in creating a digital filing process.
  • Working within all NHSBT data management rules and maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with NHSBT policies and procedures.
  • Working as an active team member assisting with a range of administrative duties across Pathology as dictated by the workload of both departments.
  • Receiving and requesting routine and non-routine enquiries internally or externally some of which may contain personal and sensitive information and escalate as necessary.
  • Maintain digital files according to standard procedures including archiving.
  • Ensure digital files are kept in good order and comply with audit requirements. Handling admin queries via email and telephone.
