Job summary

This exciting role will work primarily on projects supporting Clinical Services but could also include other areas of the organisation. This role will support this vision by providing you with the challenge and opportunity to play a key role in projects across organs, tissues, cells and blood services.
You may also have a role to play in other projects to improve our ability to provide a safe and secure supply of blood components for patients. The Quality and Regulatory challenges that face NHSBT are very demanding. The organisation has an ambition of zero Major non-conformances at external regulatory inspection and compliance is considered everybody's responsibility. You will be an important member of a small team with opportunities to work within the wider National Quality team and to network with other departments in the organisation.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will support the Quality Assurance Team through project cycles. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing day-to-day Quality Management System (QMS) support to key individuals within Clinical Services and operational functions.
- Providing advice and guidance on the QMS including Change Control, Validation, Risk management, Quality Incident management, Root Cause Analysis, Document control and supplier management.
- Assisting the wider Quality Assurance Team in the implementation and management of national initiatives and to support the Lead Quality Specialists (LQS) in their directorate and national activities.
- Providing quality consultancy and support to projects throughout the NHSBT ensuring that the outcome of such projects complies with Licensing and Accreditation requirements.
- Providing support for key project planning and delivery activities within the Clinical Services.
