Job summary
You will lead on full lifecycle analyses for standard and novel blood components to understand the impact of changes across the transfusion lifecycle on the carbon footprint as part of the NHS goal to reach carbon neutral by 2040. You will deliver the project on time and to budget, operating independently but with support and guidance.

Main duties of the job
About the Role In this role you will lead on full lifecycle analyses for standard and novel blood components to understand the impact of changes across the transfusion lifecycle on the carbon footprint as part of the NHS goal to reach carbon neutral by 2040. You will deliver the project on time and to budget, operating independently but with support and guidance. In this role you will be responsible for acting as subject matter expert and delivering blood component life cycle analyses. Your responsibilites will include: Evaluating and generating innovative ideas, supporting and contributing to the development of strategy and improved service delivery Leading on a project to investigate carbon footprint across the transfusion lifecycle end to end (from donation to transfusion) for FFP, cryo and platelets. Become an expert in blood component life cycle analyses providing expert advice on standards and specifications for systems, processes, consumables and equipment and leading on evaluation and procurement processes. Developing expertise and providing the primary point of contact for internal and external agencies within a designated area, supporting the operation in the maintenance of quality.
