Job summary
The Estates and Facilities Department covers a very large and diverse range of duties, which means that you would interact closely with many stakeholder groups on a wide range of matters.
You will work as part of a small proactive team of NHSBT staff and contractors who are customer focussed and have a can-do attitude, enabling colleagues across the organisation to carry out their duties efficiently and effectively.

You will undertake an extensive induction and training programme and receive ongoing development to support you in your role and achieving your career ambitions. You will be supported to attain the Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship.

Main duties of the job
The Facilities Department provides a highly responsive and proactive service, in a customer-oriented environment where teamwork and communication are key to its success. In this role you will study towards an apprenticeship and undertake administrative duties, which will include:
- Provision of local site services and coordination of a range of external suppliers and contractors.
- Acting as first point of contact for internal and external contacts including staff, donors members of the public, contractors and suppliers.
- Opening and sorting post and handling routine correspondence.
- Data entry ensuring all records are up to date and accurate.
- Receiving and making telephone calls.
- Maintaining manual and electronic filing systems.
- General office duties for example photocopying and scanning documents.
- Any other opportunities that will enable you to successfully attain your apprenticeship.
You will be required to travel to other NHSBT centres and apprenticeship training provider sites when the need arises, with prior notice.
