Job summary
The successful applicant will be joining a diverse team of professionals in Digital Data & Technology Services (DDTS) who are working in a busy, rewarding, and challenging environment. DDTS has a large portfolio of complex, sometimes high-risk projects and programmes and the role is critical in managing inputs and relationships with key parts of the business through the full lifecycle. You will join the organisation at a time of challenge but also great excitement, taking decisions and implementing changes which will further improve the life-saving services we provide. You will drive change through your programme & project management skills and be part of proactive team that will make a real contribution. Working within the DDTS directorate, youll have the opportunity to engage with a diverse range of people to drive performance and change.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will be responsible for managing programmes of related NHSBT projects from inception through to completion. To ensure timely and successful project conclusions and delivery of capability for achieving business benefits. Your responsibilities will include: Planning, supporting, and monitoring the progress of the programme maintaining up to date programme plans and reporting Managing internal resources and external suppliers and consultants Ensuring that programme and project deliverables are tightly linked to the achievement of strategic initiatives for the business unit Regularly suggesting changes to policy/service development which will impact beyond own area of work Responsible for the planning, structuring, leading, and overseeing implementation of the programme, and escalation of issues relating to delivery or scope Ensuring adherence to programme objectives. Participate in the development and improvement of the NHSBT Portfolio, Programme and Project Management tools and methods. The role does have a requirement to travel and spend time away from base, which can involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice.
