Main duties of the job

1. The Head of Product Solution Blood oversees all technology products within the blood technology product centre, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory demands. Combining expert product management skills with deep technical knowledge, they drive the strategic direction, championing Agile & DevOps methodologies to enhance integration and data access, and manage product vision, demand, backlog, and change roadmap effectively.

2. The role will be accountable for the product board which sits monthly with the purpose of controlling changes to blood technology, and which has the authority to prioritise and improve demand items to progress to analysis, as well as approving the scope of each software release. The post holder will have excellent planning & communication skills leading conversations with architects, business analysts, developers, and senior managers to ensure alignment.

3. The post holder will line manage our lead product managers, each responsible for a product area (Donation, Collections and Manufacturing & Testing), indirectly oversee the product team of up to 30 people and have the responsibility of a budget in excess of £1M to manage the team and make future investment decisions surrounding the management of blood technology. 4. This role will oversee the formation and evolution of the new product team, managing the change and responsibilities of its members, ensuring alignment with DDAT.
