Reporting directly to the Head of Blood Technology Product Centre, you'll play a pivotal role in refactoring legacy code to a cutting-edge .NET framework using C#. Forge strong partnerships with software development providers, integrate seamlessly with our architecture practice, and collaborate with stakeholders across the organization. You will help us implement an E2E Devops pipeline in collaboration with our supplier. Your expertise will be instrumental in troubleshooting code-level issues swiftly and efficiently, ensuring seamless project execution at every stage of the development lifecycle. Main duties of the job

In this role you will be responsible for providing support and assure essential modernisation work for a critical national technology refactoring a legacy code base to a modern .NET framework using C#. The role requires to operate in a senior position reporting to the Head of Blood Technology Product Centre and will be required to forge a strong working relationship with software development provider(s), integrate with the architecture practice and collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation.Your responsibilities will include: Designing and assuring software solutions to deliver modernisation objectives as well as addressing continual business needs. Providing software architectural blueprints and technical thought leadership to support the blood technology modernisation journey towards the cloud. Evaluating and recommending tools, technology, and processes to ensure the highest quality product platform is delivered and maintained. Implementing an E2E Devops pipeline controlling process, code development and infrastructure Creating an enterprise view of the software architecture including relationships, roadmap, and dependencies. Developing and using architectural views to drive alignment with key stakeholders such as product managers, business analysts, software delivery, testing and quality assurance. Troubleshoot code level problems efficiently

  • Educated to Masters level in IT/Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent demonstrable knowledge and experience to Masters level
  • Recognised qualifications in architecture certification e.g. The Open Group TOGAF 9 certification, Certified Architect (Open CA) or other relevant qualification (Red Hat) or equivalent experience in software architecture.
  • Demonstrates commitment to own continued professional development (CPD)

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive knowledge of software and application design and architecture.
  • Extensive experience designing and building software solutions particularly in technically complex, high risk environments.
  • Extensive technical knowledge of software and code proficient in several languages and technologies.
  • Expert knowledge in agile and traditional software development, tools and techniques, Government Digital Service, knowledge of NHS Service Standards and the wider industry.
  • Extensive experience leading and managing traditional and developments teams across the software / product lifecycle.
  • Experience of leading large-scale complex software solution projects in the public sector, including working public sector governance and assurance bodies.
  • Managing multiple and competing stakeholder aspirations and priorities.
