Job summary
NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) aims to be the best donation service in the world for blood, organs, tissues and stem cells. Your design and production know-how will make sure our vital messages come across loud and clear to donors, supporters, service users and stakeholders.
Reporting to the Brand & Studio Manager, you'll be a key member of our communications team. You'll research, develop and deliver a wide range of online and offline marketing assets, as well as providing design and production advice to colleagues across the organisation. An important element of the role will be to act as a brand guardian and brand development specialist, ensuring our identity is protected and properly used.
This is an opportunity to use your creative skills where they can really make a difference, all while learning from an expert communications team. You'll need experience of handling design and print in a large organisation, which should include working with external agencies and suppliers. You will have the ability to edit artwork files using desktop publishing, and familiarity with digital and social media. Well organised, you'll be capable of managing different projects simultaneously while still maintaining attention to detail. Strong communication skills are essential.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will be working with the Brand & Studio Manager and customer departments to research, develop, deliver and evaluate online and offline marketing assets across all media, materials and equipment for the whole organisation. Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating art working and brand designs with the senior designer, including, creating concepts, layouts, components and final artwork for both on and offline brand assets.
- Providing highly specialist publishing/creative (design and production) advice to all parts of the organisation including directors and senior managers.
- Acting as a brand guardian and a brand development specialist for the organisation, ensuring we maintain brand identity and reputation. This includes the tone of voice as well as the visual identity of the organisation.
- Designing effective, creative solutions and supporting the Brand and Studio Manager to ensure that all work produced internally or externally, is delivered to a high quality, on brand, on time and to brief.
- You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice.
