At NHSBT, we are currently undergoing a large programme of work to modernise our Blood Supply chain on National Critical Infrastructure. Working with the Portfolio PMO Manager you will experience how our programme is taking effect, and how its success is being monitored. Working closely with stakeholders, you will undertake a wide variety of duties to enable the success of the programme. From preparing slide decks and developing reporting tools, to inducting new team members and gathering information from Delivery Managers, this a multi-layered role that will continue to evolve.
This is a unique opportunity to expand your understanding of project/programme methodology and delivery. You will therefore have a good grasp of project management, supported by an excellent grasp of IT packages and good verbal and written communication skills are also important. Calm when under pressure, you will be a team-player with organisational and prioritising capabilities and a keenness to learn.
This is an England vacancy, the successful candidate may be based at any of our main centres in the UK, final location to be agreed at interview.
Main duties of the job
- Your role is to support the Portfolio PMO Manager to make sure that the great work being undertake to make changes in NHSBT is delivered to the best possible standards.
- There is a wide range of interesting and challenging projects and programmes and you will learn how they impact on our customers and what good looks like.
- On occasion you will need to support key meetings, making sure they are well prepared and everyone is clear what needs to happen.
- You may need to help out within the Programme Management Office and support the wider team on key reporting.
- You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice.
