Job summary
This is a pivotal role of leadership, engagement, and influence within NHSBT and external partners NHS hospitals.
Taking leadership of Hospital Facing Customer Service Teams, made up of mix of biomedical scientists, nurses and administrative staff, you will challenge our incredible staff to work in an environment of continual improvement, particularly in areas such as our Patient Blood Management initiative. You will take responsibility for developing and implementing strategies to improve hospital customer satisfaction and leading on our demand forecasting processes.

Main duties of the job
In this role you will demonstrate the leadership, vision and direction required to promote effective and creative relationships with key stakeholders including NHSBT internal hospital facing teams, National Blood Transfusion Committee, hospitals, medical staff, and government agencies. .Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring the safe and appropriate use of blood components in transfusion practice and create a culture of hospital engagement via complaint management.
- Developing a strong personal profile, nationally and internationally, to represent and promote safe transfusion practice.
- Being accountable for system developments which reduce Hospital Customer Complaints which have patient impact, identifying key issues through root cause analysis and developing service improvement programmes which will hospital customer satisfaction.
- Making key contributions to NHSBT strategy by providing the Transfusion SMT with a strategic overview of recommendations about realisation of synergies across key services.
- Ensuring that the national Blood Stocks Management system is fit for purpose and up to date.
- Leading and supporting key stakeholders across England
- Reporting and acting as the voice of the hospital to NHSBT.
