Job summary
You will be joining a diverse team of professionals in Digital, Data & Technology Services (DDTS) who are working in a busy, rewarding and challenging environment. DDTS has a large portfolio of complex, sometimes high risk projects and programmes and the role is critical in supporting in managing inputs and relationships through the full lifecycle. This role is ideal for individuals wanting to take the next step into Project Management. This will enable you to use your previous knowledge, skills and expertise to develop and deliver local relationships centred on saving and improving lives. Initially you will be allocated to work alongside the Project Managers for two of our projects supporting them through the delivery phase and work towards working independently in managing the delivery of one or more small to medium projects within time, cost and quality requirements. Using your organisational skills, youll make sure that NHSBT is an inclusive place to work.
Main duties of the job
This is a role within DDTS supporting the Programme and Project Management team and members of the DDTS Team. In this role you will be Managing DDTS projects to timely and successful conclusions. Ensuring that intended project outcomes are in alignment with the business strategies, that project budgets are managed effectively, and all operational needs are met. Under the direction of either the Programme & Portfolio Manager or assigned Project or Programme Manager, the jobholder will be responsible for the management of small IT projects, specific sub-projects or workstreams within projects, ensuring that they are managed to the highest professional standards and comply with all relevant internal and external standards, regulation and instructions. Supporting the Project or Programme Manager as required Participating in the development and improvement of the NHSBT portfolio, programme and project management tools and methods Maintaining of all project artefacts, for example projects/programme board update packs, project plans, runbooks, RAIDD logs. You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice.
