This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Software Testing Lead/Manager to contribute to a diverse team of professionals in the Organ and Tissue Donation and Transplantation Product Centre, who develop deliver and support a complex portfolio of systems, driving the digital transformation of our clinical services and improving patient outcomes. As a key member of the Product Centre leadership team, you will be critical to the delivery cutting-edge solutions and the maintenance of critical systems that impact national healthcare. As a leader, you'll spearhead a team of skilled senior testers, guiding them in ensuring the secure and seamless integration of technology changes. Your expertise will shine as you define software testing strategies and lead your team in formulating efficient end-to-end testing plans, providing timely estimates and the delivery of testing. This role offers a unique blend of autonomy, mentorship opportunities, and hands-on involvement in testing activities.

Main duties of the job

In this role you will be responsible for playing a key role in the delivery of new solutions and maintenance and enhancements of systems supported by the OTDT Product Centre.Your responsibilities will include: Leading a team of senior testers to deliver a thorough and robust testing capability within the OTDT Product Centre to ensure the safe and secure delivery of technology change to national critical applications into the business Acting as a line manager and mentoring for all senior test engineers and test engineers within the OTDT Product Centre as well as for the wider testing community of practice within DDTS. Focussing predominantly on test planning and management but will still be expected to participate in testing delivery work when required. Operates autonomously as a leader and subject matter expert in end-to-end software testing. Interpreting the principles of the software testing strategy and scope of each software release to devise appropriate, robust, and efficient end to end testing plans Provide accurate and timely test estimations to the delivery leads and manage the test resource plan to ensure effective delivery. You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and overnight stays when required, with prior notice
