You will be responsible for leading and supporting a motivated cross-functional team to deliver the remainder of the one of NHSBTs mission critical programmes, i.e., the Testing Development Programme. You will be accountable for programme governance meaning you will manage or escalate as appropriate any issues that threaten programme delivery to time or budget.
You will work with established senior leaders within the Blood Supply directorate to ensure strategic decisions taken within the Testing Development Programme (your remit) are aligned to the longer-term strategic direction for the Blood Supply directorate.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will be responsible for leading the Blood Supply Testing and Development Programme, a large scale change Programme within NHSBT. Your responsibilities include:
Developing and maintaining the overall Testing Development Programme modernisation, in line with the overall NHSBT strategy,
Delivering and ensuring the execution of the Programme on time and to budget in line with individual business cases and relevant programme plans,
Managing the Programme governance and assurance over delivery, where required escalating risks and issues to the Programme Board, maintaining change controls, and identifying wider programme impacts,
Providing leadership support to the SRO and providing direction and guidance on programme development and issue resolution to the established leadership structure within the Testing Development Programme.
Developing a high performing, delivery focused team with clear accountability and responsibilities,
Ensuring sufficient resource capacity and capability is continuously aligned to TDP to enable on time delivery, managing competing demands for shared resources,
Leading, managing and directing stakeholder relationships to achieve buy-in to the programme objectives and delivery of outcomes. Communicating the outcomes and benefits to all stakeholders,
Maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels including Board,
Seeking and identifying opportunities for quality/ service improvement,

- Postgraduate study in leadership and management or equivalent experience at a senior level.
- Recognised qualifications in project and programme management methodology e.g., Agile, PRINCE2, MSP.

- Post-graduate study in Finance management or equivalent knowledge and experience.
