Job summary

Youll be joining an organisation with ambitious plans to provide cutting edge digital services and to improve our technology and data services over the next 5 years. You will be able to put your skills in performance, strategic and supplier management to full use, ensuring that those plans are informed by robust analysis. A key part of this role will be to support implementation of the DDTS Sourcing Strategy and its four key priorities of a supplier segmentation framework, supplier rationalisation, augmented resource management and future strategic supplier partnerships to support and develop areas of our existing service delivery and potential co-innovation Every day will be different some days you may be ploughing through data to identify performance trends; others may be spent chasing senior managers and staff for information and following up on agreed actions; some may involve ensuring strategic suppliers are keeping up with their obligations; and some will be spent driving the agenda and successful outcomes from high level meetings.

Main duties of the job

Supporting the implementation of the DDTS Sourcing Strategy and its four key priorities Acting as an effective gatekeeper and take a key role in supporting DDTS SMT and other leads with complex and influential supplier relationships, where understanding organisational dynamics, networks of influence and current priorities are essential and where the absence of these can have significant consequences for the organisation. Developing and managing the DDTS contracts portfolio including establishing an effective renewal schedule process and engaging with key stakeholders across the Directorate in good time to either renew or replace existing supplier contracts. Ensuring timely reporting on the DDTS contracts portfolio to senior management and to the monthly DDTS Change Portfolio Board, ensuring that any risk and issues are captured and escalated appropriately. Supporting the Directorate in its continuous performance management, ensuring development of appropriate key performance indicators and scorecards, through to their effective implementation across the Directorate, and supporting performance reviews throughout the Directorate. Maintaining the supplier performance measurement system through the function and ensuring that a common approach is adopted Supporting the DDTS Efficiency Programme ensuring that best value is achieved from contract negotiations and any savings captured. Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to Degree level in a relevant business related subject supported with post qualifying experience or substantial equivalent experience
  • Specialist postgraduate qualification in management (eg MBA, Graduate Diploma) or significant work experience at a similar level
  • Relevant Masters level qualification in business, performance management or equivalent demonstrable work experience and willingness to undertake qualification
  • Evidence of continuous professional development

Experience

Essential

  • Significant experience of successfully working in a politically sensitive environment.
  • Expert knowledge and skills in critical intelligence management and supplier and business analytics management
  • Experience of planning and adjusting plans and resources accordingly
  • Proven experience of identifying performance trends and root causes of performance issues
  • Experience of undertaking supplier management activities
  • Understanding of relevant UK legislation
  • Staff management experience
  • Knowledge of balanced scorecards and other performance evaluation & improvement techniques
  • Proven experience of developing effective performance interventions and recovery in a complex healthcare organisation.
  • Experience of delivering or shaping complex change programmes
