Job summary
Information and data is crucial to every clinical organisation. At NHS Blood and Transplant its also tremendously complex, from two million annual blood donations to growing numbers of organs collected and supplied. In the Data Management Officer role, youll be working with data from across its lifecycle, from right at the inception stage of the data, before its even created, to helping ensure the data quality and adherence to policies and standards. You will set the parameters of the data that will make it useful to all the stakeholders, from the people that design the systems, to the patients whose care is delivered via this data, to the Executives who will be using the data to make decisions. You will be literally helping to save millions of lives. Whats more, youll be helping shape and deliver key aspects of the Data & Analytics Strategy, being a key enabler for other parts of the organisation and being that multiplier who makes everyone more effective at what they do. To do this, you will be a quick learner, logical in your approach and thinking, an excellent communicator, tactful, inspirational and confident working with people at all levels with a good understanding about data management principles and processes.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will coordinate and lead appropriate workstreams and activities within Data Management, or associated activities or workstreams. Your responsibilities will include:- Developing Data Management activities, and champion the causes of Data Management across NHSBT, and with other stakeholders Working with leads across the organisation to coordinate activities and initiatives between the central Data Management team and directorates Acting as an active member of the Data Strategy and work programme core teams, as well as the Data Community or Practice Supporting the wider CIGD (Cyber, Information Governance, Data Management & Organ Dornor Register) sub-directorate, as well as DDTS (Digital, Data and Technology Services) Directorate and NHSBT initiatives You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours and occational overnight stays when required, with prior notice
