Job summary
In the Donor Experience Directorate, we have big ambitions to save and improve more lives, reduce health inequalities and ensure a diverse and resilient donor base for the future. You will lead a team of planning and performance specialists who, together with colleagues across the supply chain, will drive forward the agenda to improve the supply of blood and blood products and ultimately create the best experience for our donors and patients across the country. You will be responsible for the setting of all annual donor base targets for Donor Experience colleagues, and the associated metrics to ensure the delivery of a sufficient and resilient supply of blood that matches patient need. You will also review the performance and delivery against these targets to ensure collaboration at all levels of the directorate. You will achieve this by leading the design of a programme that delivers the right availability for donors across the country, at the right time, ensuring the best experience with blood donation possible. You will take the lead on key strategic projects, such as Future Proofing of Collection Capacity, representing Donor Experience and ensuring the donor is at the forefront of strategic thinking and programme design. Main duties of the job
You will lead on the design and delivery of donor aspect of the Blood Donation Business Plan for all programmes to meet NHSBT strategic objectives and annual hospital demand for whole blood, component and specialist products. Your responsibilities will include: Developing donor planning and performance management objectives for the matching of blood supply to maintain the provision of donors to match the level and diversity of hospital demand. Leading strategic projects. Reviewing and leading the design of national, regional, area and team collection programmes Ensuring the right number of blood, platelet and PFM donation appointments are delivered weekly to meet hospital demand. Developing in-depth data analysis to set key collection performance indicators and targets for the Donor Experience directorate. Setting and planning the annual donor base targets across whole blood, PFM, platelets and specialist products targets to improve donor diversity, across ethnicity, gender and blood group. Leading, developing and implementing target setting for donor recruitment, ensuring sufficient and appropriate venues, panels and blood group to meet the overall strategic aims of the organisation. Ensuring the breakdown of the blood collection plan by group and type and for ensuring that activities drive the correct group donor attendance. Identifying strategic developments requiring resource allocation funding on an annual basis. Acting as deputy as a where required
