Job summary
The Healthshare Clinic West London Outpatient Department
consists of seven outpatient consulting rooms, one minor operations/treatment
room, and one phlebotomy room. We cover a range of services within the
outpatients department including sonography, podiatry, ENT, gynaecology, hand
& wrist, interventional pain services, cardiology, and more.
We have an opportunity for a bank health care assistant to
join our friendly team on a zero-hours contract. The purpose of the role is to
provide an efficient healthcare assistant service working within established
policies and processes, and to ensure that an exemplary level of customer
service is provided to patients, clinicians and clinical teams.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate must be able to work a variety of
shifts including weekdays, weekends and early/late shifts as required. Duties
will initially centre on assisting within our sonography team, but will involve
rotations within the outpatient clinics and the ward when appropriate.
Chaperoning, clinical set up, cleaning and maintenance of consulting rooms, monitoring
stock levels, and clinical assessments (such as vital signs, ECG taking, and
phlebotomy once training has been completed) will all form part of this
role.
Applicants should have recent experience of assisting in
hospital/healthcare environments. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent healthcare

Bank Healthcare Assistant - Outpatients
ACCOUNTABLE TO: Outpatient Lead Nurse
REPORTS TO: Outpatient Lead
Job Purpose:
1. To provide an efficient Healthcare Assistant service, working within established policies and processes.
2. To ensure an exemplary level of customer service is provided to patients, clinicians and clinic teams.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Maintain a patient focused quality approach to all aspects of work.
2. Assist in the care and comfort of the patient at all times.
3. Assist the Clinician during examinations, as requested. This may include interventional procedures and the handling and use of sterile consumables where trained to do so.
4. Help to facilitate the smooth running of clinics, liaising with the Nurse in charge, patients and Clinicians to support their needs.
5. When trained to do so, complete patient investigations such as ECGs, phlebotomy and wound care assessments.
6. Ensure clinical rooms are prepared to the appropriate level of cleanliness, as described in the Infection Control policy, prior to the start of and the end of clinical sessions.
7. Where required, maintain patient records in accordance with The Winchester Clinics data protection and confidentiality policies.
8. Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels and order supplies of linen, gowns and consumables.
9. Check all the received orders and distribute stock across sites as required.
10. Actively support Healthshare Clinic West Londons health promotion activities.
11. Participate in governance activities such as audit and incident reporting.
12. Assist in the induction and training of new staff as required
13. Provide administration support as required.
14. To provide a point of contact for patients, relatives, consultants, GPs and clinical staff.
15. Safely utilising equipment to support patients with mobility needs.
16. Adhere to the Corporate and local policies applicable to the role.
