Job summary

The post has arisen for a full time, 1 year contract Medical Receptionist at our premises at King’s Surgery, Port Talbot.

We require a friendly candidate to provide a vital role in welcoming patients to the practice. Duties will involve acting as the first point of contact for all patients and visitors to the practice, arranging appointments, prescriptions, scanning, answering telephone calls, filing and general administrative work.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will need to enjoy meeting and greeting patients and possess the ability to relate to a broad spectrum of individuals and to handle queries and enquiries efficiently and professionally. This post will require you to work unsupervised in a busy office.

You will be expected to provide an effective customer focused service in line with practice standards and be able to demonstrate confident communication and interpersonal skills. Full training will be given.

Applicants must be computer literate and familiar with the standard range of IT packages.

NHS Pension Scheme in the practice

This post will be subject to an appropriate CRB disclosure.

The hours will be minimum 35 1/5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, between 8am – 6.30pm. The successful candidate must be flexible to cover holidays and sickness when required. Pay scale: minimum wage applies
