Receptionist - Court Road Surgery

Job summary

The main purpose of the role: To provide a central point of contact between patients, doctors and other medical staff. To assist the practice in maintaining accurate and up to date medical records and provide excellent services to patients. Provide administrative support to the clinical team so that the clinicians can concentrate on delivering services to patients.

The successful candidate will be employed by the GP Practice/Medical Centre, not Cardiff & Vale University Health Board

Main duties of the job

Hourly Rate: £9.51

16 to 37 hours a week

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated GP Receptionist/ Call Handler who is patient focused to help us provide safe and efficient services.

We are looking for an IT literate, reliable and competent administrator who can assist with the smooth running of patient facing and back office services.

A large part of the role involves dealing with patients via telephone.

The role can be both challenging and rewarding so the ability to deal with situations efficiently and professionally is essential.

Applicants should be aware that the surgery is open from 08:00 – 18:30 Monday to Friday and cover for holidays/ sickness absences will be required outside of the regular hours.

We have various shifts of 08:00- 13:15 and 13:15 - 18:30 available Monday to Friday Rate of pay will be £9.51 per hour.
