We are currently looking for a Practice Nurse to join our friendly team who can competently undertake the management of primary care issues and manage a wide variety of presentations on a daily basis whilst working collaboratively within the multi-disciplinary Surgery team.

The successful candidate will work to enhance Chronic Disease management services within the practice.

The successful candidate will be encouraged and supported to undertake any further training required to ensure appropriate role development.

Aid the practice team with implementation of new initiatives in the delivery of chronic disease management services.

Support the implementation of evidence-based guidelines in conjunction with the practice nursing team and promote the continuing professional development of yourself and other nurses & HCAs within the practice

The successful candidate will be employed by the GP Practice/Medical Centre, not Aneurin Bevan University Health Board

Main duties of the job

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Nurse to join our experienced multi-disciplinary team. The practice team consists of 2 GP Partners, 4 salaried GP’s, 3 Practice Nurses, 3 Health Care Assistants, Practice Pharmacist along with a very supportive administration and reception team.

We are a family friendly, proactive practice with 8,300 patients providing GMS services from purpose built premises. The successful candidates role will involve undertaking a range of practice nurse duties including management of long term conditions, anti-coagulation management, wound management, cytology, travel vaccinations and childhood immunisations. Experience in a similar role is essential.

The Practice is a training practice welcoming GP Registrars and 5th year medical students. We are also willing to support the development of experienced practice nurses into areas such as minor ailments and independent prescribers courses.

The successful candidate will be required to have a Registered General Nurse qualification (currently registered with NMC) and work within the NMC code of professional conduct at all times.
