Job summary

Hereford Road Surgery

To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients, as well as providing nursing assistance to the doctors and other members of the primary healthcare team. The duties will include all tasks normally undertaken by an experienced RGN and any additional roles agreed between the nurse and the doctors as appropriate, having regard to current training.

The successful candidate will be employed by the GP Practice/Medical Centre, not Aneurin Bevan University Health Board

Maternity Cover for Practice Nurse – Hereford Road Surgery, Abergavenny, Monmouthshire, NP7 5PR

We are looking to recruit a friendly, enthusiastic, and highly motivatedNurse to join our Practice team for maternity cover. We pride ourselves on being a patient focused community practice and even in these challenging times strive to offer the best personal care. We are a well-established GP Practice in Abergavenny with easy access to M4, Cardiff and Bristol.

Ideally, we are looking for a Practice Nurse with GP Practice experience, although not essential. The vacancy is for approximately 9 months starting in October 2022, the hours will be up to 18 hours per week over two days (Thursday and Friday) between the hours of 8.00am-6.30pm. Hours can be negotiated for the right candidate.

Our team consists of 4 GP Partners, 1 Salaried GP, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Treatment Room Nurse and 1 HCA. We are supported by a LHB pharmacist and have regular clinics for the midwife, counsellor, health visitor and drug support worker.

This Surgery came into being in July 1999 out of a need to create more and better opportunities for primary medical services in North Monmouthshire.The Surgery is situated conveniently near the centre of Abergavenny, adjacent to the market. There is adequate parking for twenty five cars around the building including some space for the disabled.There are currently four GP Partners, Dr Huw Williams, Dr Louise Hull, Dr Paul Maslin, and Dr Maria Stone, they are supported by Dr Ruksha Bhadresha.We offer a full general practice service and run specialist clinics for children and pregnant women, diabetes and asthma sufferers and for patients needing minor surgery. We also offer an on-site dispensing service.At Hereford Road Surgery we aim to treat all our patients promptly, courteously and in complete confidence. The Surgery is staffed by a full complement of nurses, receptionists, dispensary and administrative personnel whose aim is to provide the best possible service in a friendly and efficient manner. We feel it is important you know who you are speaking to, so our practice staff wear a name badge.
