Job summary
Salary Available Upon Request
5 sessions a week
We have a vacancy for a Maternity Locum GP for 5 sessions to join our team in Wellspring Medical Centre, on a Monday (all day), Tuesday (all day) and Wednesday (afternoon only). Ideally, we would look for the post to start Monday 11th May, for 26 weeks until Wednesday 4th November 2026.
Main duties of the job
You would work in a purpose-built surgery with a close-knit team of clinicians, who meet daily for a coffee, chat and offer support. The set-up of the practice means GP workload is shared each day, reducing stress and the dreaded on call days we hear about at other surgeries. Clinics start at 9am Monday and Tuesday, and 3pm Wednesday. You can expect to leave at about 5.30pm Mondays and Tuesdays, and 6.30pm Wednesdays.
About us
Wellspring Medical Centre is a well-established, forward thinking, friendly, training practice with a list size of 9,000 patients. The practice is a purpose built medical centre located in Risca, in close proximity to Cardiff and Newport with excellent train and road links. We are part of Caerphilly NCN and use EMIS Web. We maintain a good relationship with our patients and are high achievers for Enhanced Services and QAIF. The team consists of 5 Partners and 3 Salaried GPs working alongside a team of ANP, Nurses, HCAs, Receptionists and Admin Staff. We have an NCN attached Physiotherapist and Psychological Healthcare Professional.
