Opportunity to join a busy Practice within Wrexham, Long Term Locum : 6 - 8 sessions per week

Main duties of the job
Registered with GMC and on the GP register
Will be registered with the Welsh Performers list
Usual revalidation / licence to practice requirements need to be fulfilled.
In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, face to face & telephone consultations and queries, home visits, checking & signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries.
Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible).
Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
Awareness of and compliance with all relevant Practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety.
In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

We are in the process of expanding our team and we are interested in forward thinking, team oriented doctors to join us.We are a high earning GMS non-dispensing practice based in Wrexham North Wales. Wrexham is a busy town situated between Cheshire and the Welsh hills and is surrounded by wonderful countryside. We are within easy access of Chester, Liverpool, Manchester and the Midlands. List size 13,500 Excellent team consisting of 5 GPs, 3 Nurse Practitioners, 4 Practice Nurses and excellent admin team We have a lot of admin staff/nurses who have been trained up to do specific tasks to ease the doctors workload like prescribing team, Read coding team and documents team. We have a signposting service for on the day appointment requests which is managed by our Medical reception team and ANPs. Other than day to day GP services, we provide a wide range of facilities in house including minnow surgery, joint injections, contraception (coils/implants, travel vaccinations, and DVLA medicals etc. We have in house advanced physiotherapist managing musculo-skeletal problems first line. We use EMIS Web currently and will be migrating to Microtest later in the year. On site pharmacy (not owned) Plans in place to become a training practice

Rest of the session - which is about 1 hour would be taken as admin time during which you will deal with your proportion of paperwork/ lab results/ practice notes/ or any such queries which may arise.
You will be expected to do approximately 2 home visits between sessions (as required) or take a fair proportion of home visits as need arises.
