Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Salaried GP to join our team in Talbot Green Group Practice from May 2025, for 4 sessions a week (to replace sessions for a partner reducing their sessional commitment).
We are an enthusiastic primary healthcare team and training practice located just off the M4 corridor near Llantrisant and the Royal Glamorgan Hospital. We also have a branch surgery in Beddau nearby. There has recently been property development in the local area and as such our practice list has been growing and is now > 12,500 patients.
Main duties of the job
A successful applicant would need to be available to work all day Tuesday and preferentially Wednesday (although Thursday is a possible alternative). Salaried GPs are also involved in periodically covering the afternoon on calls to support absence or annual leave.
We subscribe to most enhanced services available in the locality including minor surgery, wound care/minor illness, DMARD prescribing/monitoring, anticoagulation and contraception/coil fitting to name a few.
As a training practice we enjoy the energy that GP training provides, and we believe helps retain doctors working in the local area and community. A successful applicant would also be involved in GP training providing hot reviews and potentially undertaking tutorials.
Across our partnership we have several special interests so feel we are well placed to support doctors in their professional development as well as becoming part of a friendly and social clinical and administrative team.
Salary for the post is negotiable but would be in keeping with national salary scales for Wales, taking into account the doctors experience and employment history We use the BMA model contract for our salaried GPs.
