The Clinic Surgery is a forward thinking Practice working from a brand new purpose built premises in Ruthin, which is a picturesque market town within an area of outstanding natural beauty. we offer a superb spacious working environment and have a traditional GP ethos committed to delivering high quality healthcare.

We are part of Ruthin Community hospital where we have a number of GP beds. The hospital offers a number of clinics such as ECG,wound care and phlebotomy. Our surgery has a semi-rural catchment area and we are perhaps unique in being able to satisfy virtually all our patients requests for an on the day face to face appointment. We have a strong community team who cover most care home and home visits. In addition, we have our own dispensary on site that provides an efficient and friendly service to our patients.

We are looking for a GP to join the practice as a salaried GP on a fixed term contract but this could be extended for the right candidate. We could offer some flexibility in working patterns and believe in a work life balance. Main duties of the job

We are a forward thinking, single- handed practice looking for a salaried GP to join us who could commit to 2-4 sessions a week. We value holistic patient care with sustainable workloads.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Essential

Undertake a variety of duties including surgery face to face, telephone and online consultations and queries and where applicable visiting patients at home.

Checking and signing repeat prescriptions, dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.

Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self referred or referred from other health care workers/organisations.

Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and un diagnosed problems.

Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols and developing care plans for health.

Providing counselling and health education.

Admitting or discharging patients to and from caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.

Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards and read codes.

Compiling and issuing computer generated acute and repeat prescriptions.

Prescribing in accordance with practice prescribing formulary, or generically whenever this is clinically appropriate.

Completion of medical records ,NHS and private as required.

Adhering to Practice polices and procedures.

Ensuring adherence to GDPR and confidentiality.

Adhering to equality and diversity.

GMC with no restrictions.

Currently on national GP register.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Clear and polite manner.

Effective time management.

An advocate for the Practice.
