Bryngwyn Surgery is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Practice Nurse to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients, support the smooth running of the surgery, and work collaboratively with GPs, healthcare assistants, and other members of the multidisciplinary team. The Practice Nurse will be responsible for delivering a wide range of nursing services, including chronic disease management, health promotion, and minor illness treatment.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care:

    • Provide general nursing care to patients, including wound care, immunizations, vaccinations, and other treatments.

    • Manage and deliver care to patients with chronic conditions, such as diabetes, asthma, and hypertension.

    • Conduct health assessments and screenings, including cervical smears, blood pressure checks, and ECGs.

    • Offer advice and support on health promotion and disease prevention.

    • Administer medications, including injections, in accordance with practice protocols.

  • Clinical Duties:

    • Assist in minor surgical procedures and the management of dressings.

    • Participate in the planning and delivery of patient care, ensuring that care is patient-centered and evidence-based.

    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in electronic medical records.

    • Carry out triage for patients presenting with minor illnesses and injuries, providing appropriate care or referral.

    • Collaborate with the wider healthcare team to ensure continuity of care for patients.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid NMC Pin.

  • Experience working in a primary care setting or similar healthcare environment is desirable.

  • Experience in chronic disease management, wound care, and immunizations is preferred.

  • Strong clinical skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach to care.
