An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Practice Manager to join us at Tanyfron Primary Care. Our family friendly practice is situated in the beautiful town of Aberaeron on the coast of West Wales, with very affordable housing in stunning scenery amid the green rolling Welsh countryside and unspoilt beaches and coastline.
The position will be well suited to an individual who has previous experience in a similar strategic leadership role, ideally within primary care or healthcare management. The individual will work closely with and be supported by the partners and the senior management to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the reception, administration, and clinical teams to ensure a high standard of service to our patients.
We are looking for an experienced, forward thinking and dynamic Practice Manager who is looking for a new challenge in a fantastic environment. This is a full time, permanent position of 37.5 hours per week over 4 or 5 days, with a competitive salary dependent on experience.

Main duties of the job
Oversee the management of the day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring that staff achieve their primary responsibilities.
Manage HR processes, including recruitment, relevant checks, contractual issues, appraisals and staff performance.
Monitor workforce planning, ensuring a skill mix and staff have the appropriate level of training to enable them to carry out their individual roles and responsibilities effectively.
Ensure employment law and legislation is adhered to.
Assist with project management within the practice.
Keep up to date with developments and changes within primary care.
Assist in ensuring QOF and commissioned service targets are met.
Manage the complaints process in line with current legislation and guidance.
Assist in the significant event process.
Deal with contracts and maintenance for services and equipment.
Oversee the review and update of all practice policies and procedures.
Assist with the coordinate the practice development plan and business continuity plan.
Ensure the practice maintains compliance with its GMS contractual obligations.
About us
We operate from a new, modern, purpose-built integrated care centre, and provide high quality care to over 7,300 patients. We are a high achieving, well-organised practice and currently use the Vision clinical system, though are migrating to EMIS. We are a GP training practice and have medical students and GP trainees with us throughout the year.
We have a well-established, hard-working, and professional multidisciplinary practice team with a low turnover of staff that include GPs, prescribing nurse practitioners, paramedic practitioners and a dedicated pharmacy team.
