We are looking for a locum GP to help us cover maternity leave for the next 9 months - anything up to 6 sessions per week at a rate of £10,500 per session per annum pro rata. We are a very friendly and busy practice. For an informal chat please call Practice Manager - Nicky Jones 01766 771955

Main duties of the job

The post holder will undertake a variety of duties, including surgery/telephone consultations and queries, home visits, signing prescriptions and dealing with queries in a timely fashion. Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems. Assessing healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. Screening patients for disease risk factors and early and early signs of illness. Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with the current practice disease management protocols. Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards. Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions. Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary. The post-holder will be expected to undertakes all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

About us

We are looking for a locum GP to help us cover the maternity leave of one of our partners. We are a friendly, busy Practice split over 3 sites in the beautiful area of Meirionydd - covering Penrhyndeudraeth, Harlech and Trawsfynydd. We have 6 GP partners who are well supported by an experienced clinical team of Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Clinical Pharmacist, HCA's and Phlebotomists.

We have a Cluster Paramedic to help with Home visits and our Clinical Pharmacist deals with all script queries and medication reviews.

We have the additional support of Audiologist, Physiotherapist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist and Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner who all hold weekly clinics with us.

We are a well-established teaching practice and we have 2 GP Registrars and we also take 5th year medical students from Cardiff and Bangor.

Clinical responsibilities:
