The Role:

We are currently looking candidates for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our amazing team.

The Northern Care Alliance NHS Group (NCA)brings together staff and services from Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust (SRFT) and The Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust (PAT).

Our dedicated 19,500-strong team NCA Family delivers healthcare excellence to over one million people across Salford, Oldham, Rochdale and Bury, as well as providing more specialist services to patients from Greater Manchester and beyond.

We also ensure we have the right people with the right skills in place to continuously improve the way people receive care, enabling resources, skills, and expertise to be shared in the best possible way.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties and Responsibilities of the role:

  • To have responsibility for own caseload and deliver individualized assessments and interventions for patients with complex and changing needs.
  • To provide specialist support and education for occupational therapy and wider teams.
  • To provide line management for junior members of the occupational therapy team.
  • To deputize for the band 7 team leader as required.
  • To participate in regular rotation, this may include change of site and/or clinical specialty.
  • To accept clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of patients, and to organize this efficiently and effectively about clinical priorities and use of time.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Specialist knowledge of anatomy and physiology to underpin relevant clinical skills and clinical reasoning.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for specialist clinical caseload.
  • Knowledge of how clinical governance affects practice, including quality, audit, and risk management
  • Effective computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enabling effective team working Experience of liaison with other professionals and partnership working.
  • Teaching and supervision or others.
