Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Advanced
Occupational Therapist at Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust,
based at St Michaels Hospital in Warwick. This role involves delivering
specialised occupational therapy within acute inpatient mental health services,
supporting individuals with complex needs through structured, recovery-focused
interventions.You will lead the prioritisation and delivery of services
within a multidisciplinary team, contribute to care planning and risk
management, and oversee the Activity Co-Ordinator. You will also play a key
role in supporting ongoing service development.
Main duties of the job
As an Occupational Therapist, you will manage a specialised
caseload of individuals with complex needs, delivering care in line with
organisational values. You will assess referrals, carry out detailed
evaluations, and implement tailored treatment plans in collaboration with
patients, carers, and other agencies.You will also support staff development through supervision
and training, contribute to complex clinical decision-making, and uphold
professional and ethical standards. Additionally, you will assist with data
management, service monitoring, and continuous improvement to ensure
high-quality care delivery.

- To coordinate and deliver training programmes across multidisciplinary teams by sharing specialist knowledge, building staff competencies, and supporting continuous learning across services.
- To act as a key point of contact for occupational therapy expertise by providing specialist advice to clinicians, external agencies, and stakeholders to support informed decision-making.
- To monitor and evaluate service performance and pressures by identifying gaps, proposing solutions, and supporting improvements in service delivery and patient outcomes.
- To support organisational processes such as complaints and investigations by contributing professionally when required and ensuring learning is embedded into practice.
- To maintain flexibility in managing workload demands by adapting to changing priorities, deadlines, and service needs within a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications
Essential
- HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
- Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
- Significant experience in acute mental health and/or community settings.
- Experience of supervising staff like Activity Co-Ordinator or students.
- Ability to deliver evidence-based occupational therapy assessments and interventions.
- Strong clinical reasoning and MDT working skills.
- Not suitable for newly qualified therapists.
- Full UK driving licence and access to own transport.
