Job summary
We have
an exciting opportunity for an Audiologist at Princess Alexandra Hospital. The
Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) provides a full range of general
acute, outpatient and diagnostic services. In this role, you will work across
various settings with patients experiencing hearing difficulties, as well as
their families and carers. You will perform diagnostic hearing assessments for
both adults and children, ensuring highly accurate results, fit and verify
hearing aid prescriptions, develop individual treatment plans, and provide
ongoing care, advice, and support to patients with mild to moderate or profound
hearing loss.
Main duties of the job
As part
of the Audiology team, you will often work independently while collaborating
with Senior Audiologists, the Audiology Manager, and Deputy Manager for
guidance when needed. You will provide support and supervision to the Band 4
Assistant Audiologist and PTP Trainees. The role involves liaising with other
hospital departments, including Ear, Nose and Throat, Central Appointments,
Speech and Language Therapy, and other Audiology teams. You will assess the
hearing of adults and children over the age of 5 using a range of specialised
diagnostic tests, including Pure Tone Audiometry, Acoustic Admittance
Measurements, Acoustic Reflex Measurements, Speech Audiometry, and Oto-Acoustic
Emissions.

for adults and children, programming and verifying devices using appropriate
software and real ear measurements.

To modify ear moulds using specialized equipment to ensure comfort,
optimal acoustic performance, and effective patient outcomes.

To review patient progress regularly, provide counselling and advice, and
adjust hearing aid settings or rehabilitation plans as necessary.

and implement individualized solutions.
