Main duties of the job
Participate in adult post-mortem service (and paediatric depending on experience).
Duties to include:
- receipt and release of deceased
- the preparation of cadavers for post-mortem examination
- assisting the pathologist during the examination
- collection of tissue and body fluid samples
- use of the Faxitron
- removal of pacemakers
All duties are to be performed with due regard for the dignity of the deceased and in accordance with local standard operating procedures.
