Main duties of the job

Participate in adult post-mortem service (and paediatric depending on experience).

Duties to include:

• receipt and release of deceased
• the preparation of cadavers for post-mortem examination
• assisting the pathologist during the examination
• collection of tissue and body fluid samples
• use of the Faxitron
• removal of pacemakers

All duties are to be performed with due regard for the dignity of the deceased and in accordance with local standard operating procedures.
