Job summary

The Walton Centre are currently seeking a Band 3 Occupational Therapy Assistant to assist the team Occupational Therapists in the assessment of appropriate patients.

Main duties of the job

Responsibilities:

If you are successful, you will contribute to the smooth running of the therapy department which includes caring for equipment, wheelchairs, ordering of stock plus housekeeping and administration duties.

To assist qualified therapists in their administrative duties for the functioning of the therapy department.

To take responsibility for own delegated clinical caseload.

To undertake assessment related activities and treatment / intervention as required or as directed by qualified therapists

To participate in audit and service development.

To work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.

Have the ability to undertake training to acquire the skills appropriate for development in the post

Previous experience as a healthcare assistant, rehab assistant, occupational therapy or physiotherapy assistant

Experience of working with older people

Physically able to perform tasks whilst kneeling, bending and able to handle patients and equipment safely

Valid and current driving license and car to be able to travel to locations throughout
