Job summary
As the Cancer
Information Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high quality,
clinically focused reporting and analysis of cancer data.
The role will be pivotal
in supporting the improvement of cancer outcomes through the development and
delivery of timely and accurate data, through extraction and analysis, on which
decisions can be made. The role will support the provision of data for Cancer
Waiting Times Dataset (CWT), Clinical Outcomes and Services Dataset (COSD) and
National Audits at specialty level.
The post holder will be
responsible for the day-to-day management of the Cancer Management System (CMS)
InfoFlex, delivering support, administration, technical management, maintenance,
and development.
The postholder will play a
key role in the successful implementation of the EHR system, Cerner, in October
2024, for cancer services and, in conjunction with the Cancer Performance
Manager, will lead PAH through the ICS wide procurement process for a new
Cancer Management System which is due to start imminently.
Main duties of the job
- Lead the provision of accurate and complete cancer data on InfoFlex, liaising with the MDT team managers to ensure that data entry is timely and accurate at source, errors are highlighted, and training supplied.
- Providing cancer specialist data analysis, information reports and interpretation of that data to the Trust and in particular to clinical colleagues and Health Care divisions. This will include working with the Trust EPR systems and Business Intelligence teams to develop self-service data and information provision. Regular review of processes for efficiency and effectiveness will be expected.
- Ensure the management of the day-to-day duties to maintain the system security and access control of InfoFlex.
- Assisting in the maintenance of security of InfoFlex live environment in accordance with the NHS IM&T Security Manual, the Trusts Security/Confidentiality Policy including locally defined polices and/or procedures
- To manage and/or provide expert software configuration management for InfoFlex, to include the production of procedures, planning, reporting, change control preparation documents, audit and version control.
- Proactively support the implementation of the new EHR system, Cerner, for cancer services, reviewing and changing cancer processes as required, in conjunction with the wider Cancer Team. Ensuring the correct Cerner training and ongoing support is organised and delivered for cancer services and the Cancer Team
