Job Title: Medical Equipment Library Supervisor

Location: Watford General Hospital, Watford, WD18 0HB

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:00am 4:00pm

Pay: £20.06 per hour

Main duties of the job

Provide day-to-day supervision and assistance to the Clinical Engineering team.

Manage the day-to-day, activities and operation of the library and administration staff.

Manage the delivery of a quality, cost-efficient, complex medical equipment support service to the trust, and to provide accurate and timely reports to the Clinical Engineering Manager for all relevant activities.

Organise own, Library and administration workload so as to meet the needs of clinical areas, ensuring service levels are met in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Oversee the renewal of maintenance contracts and scheduled preventative maintenance, proactively co-ordinate all areas of the equipment library and support the clinical engineers.

The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.

Experience

Essential

  • Substantial and proven knowledge of the repair, calibration and safety testing procedures on a broad spectrum of equipment especially infusion pumps, volumetric pumps, beds, mattresses, feeding pumps, trolleys, palliative care pumps cardiac monitors etc.,
  • Good understanding of the principles of inventory management. Knowledge of Equip is advantageous.
  • Able to produce reports from excel and management database system
  • Willing to take daily audit walks to assess collections/deliveries and status of Library equipment across the hospital.
  • Degree in Science, Engineering, or HNC with equivalent qualification or professional experience

Desirable

  • This role may require you to show evidence of education to Degree level or at least 2 years relevant experience.
