Job Title: Head of Employee Relations

Hours: Monday- Friday 9am-5pm (37.5 hours a week)

About the Trust

CroydonHealth Services NHS Trust is part of the National Health Service (NHS) andwas formed in July 2010 with the integration ofMayday Healthcare NHS Trust withCroydonCommunity Health Services. Croydon Health Services provides integrated NHS services to care for people at home, in schools, and health clinics across the borough as well as at Croydon University Hospital and Purley War Memorial Hospital.

Main duties of the job

Implement our proposed conflict resolution framework and policy, flexing and adapting the model as required according to stakeholder feedback, evolving demands and resources.

Ensure the delivery of robust, balanced and timely investigations outcomes to serious and/ or complex misconduct cases, including allegations of bullying, harassment and discrimination.

Build collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders, including staff side, staff network leads, Freedom to Speak Up guardians, Occupational Health and divisional HR colleagues, ensuring flexibility and multiple pathways and points of access to conflict resolution support.

Research, consult, benchmark, draft and implement best practice policies, templates procedures, guidelines and toolkits in line with employment legislation and organisational requirements.

Develop branding and communication strategies and effectively use a variety of communication channels and mediums to promote and raise awareness of our conflict framework and policies.

Act as the subject matter expert for employee relations providing input and advice to the HR & OD team and mentoring/coaching managers and HR colleagues.

Lead on continuous improvement, practice reflection, peer review and CPD in employee relations for the HR & OD team, ensuring appropriate mechanisms and forums are in place to enable this.

  • Extensive track record of operational and strategic HR achievement, working with a broad remit including OD
  • Substantial experience of carrying out complex ER investigations, and coaching others in doing so.
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Experience of leading and delivering projects
  • Ability to convey and sell a vision and influence colleagues to change practice and approach
  • Up to date knowledge of employment law, HR practice and current thinking on conflict resolution and developments in HR
  • Able to analyse highly complex workforce problems identifying risk and developing a range of tailored solutions.
  • Extensive experience of working in partnership with Trades Unions.
