Main duties of the job
- Ensure you participate in the dispensary team meetings and daily set up, providing good communication, hand over and raise any concerns.
- Monitor, observe and streamline workflow using the pharmacy tracking system, proactively manage bottle necks of work and support the team. Ensuring workflow is consistently moving through the process.
- Accurately manage stock of controlled drugs, including ordering and receiving, investigating discrepancies and documenting any discrepancies/ findings to the dispensary team leader/ manager.

Job responsibilities
Will assist the Dispensary
Manager in the management, development and delivery of high quality, modern,
patient centred and cost-effective pharmacy service.
To support the Dispensary manager
in the training of all staff on the dispensary IT systems, equipment and storage.
Will have or working
towards gaining the Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician qualification
(ACPT) and any further internal/ external development requirements for this role.
To maintain competence in
Medicines Optimisation or any relevant Pharmacy qualification as applicable.
To provide the supervision and
lead in implementing the training of all dispensary staff including technicians
and support workers, plus wider pharmacy staff including Trainee Pharmacists,
Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacists Ensuring it is delivered
to a high standard and completed in a timely manner.
Will follow all legal and
departmental practices including Standing Operating Procedures (SOPs) and all
Trust policies and procedures.
Will assist in the writing
and implementation of new SOPs and the implementation of any other procedures
and practice changes required within the department.
Will be expected to
contribute to the development of pharmaceutical services and to promote the
highest standards of professional practice, whilst always observing the
standards for pharmacy professionals as laid out by the General
Pharmaceutical Council.
Will be expected to
contribute to the development and promote the trust Standards and promises as to
set by the trust objectives.
To support appraisers in setting
achievable objectives and offering constructive feedback regarding their
training and development.
