Job summary
Are you a skilled and compassionate pharmacy technician ready to play a crucial role in patient care? Princess Alexandra Hospital have exciting opportunities for Pharmacy Technicians to join their team.
Main duties of the job
- Liaising with clinical pharmacists and nursing staff to enable development of the service.
- Participating in audit of scheme enabling improvements and development of service as appropriate.
- Dispensing and issuing of medicines from the pharmacy department in accordance with the policies, procedures and safe systems of work.

provide an effective pharmacy service in the Pharmacy Dispensary, at Ward level
and to support the dispensing of out-patient prescriptions.
To work as an Accredited Checking
Technician, Medicine Management Technician, completing clinical checks and
counselling patients with their medicines.
To participate in the on-call rota.

Qualifications
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 and BTEC or equivalent qualification in Pharmaceutical Science
- Regional Accredited Checking Technician qualification and/or Clinical Certificate in medicine management for Pharmacy Technicians
- Current registration as Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
Experience
Essential
- Accuracy checking and /or Medicines Management experience
Desirable
- Hospital Pharmacy Experience
- Supervisory experience
