Main duties of the job
- Conduct routine screening and diagnostic audiological tests, including audiometry, tympanometry, otoacoustic emissions, and vestibular function evaluation.
- Perform otoscopy to identify ear health issues and advise patients, carers, and relatives on results and next steps.
- Independently select, program, and fit digital and analogue hearing aids using advanced computer software and technology.
- Provide counselling and rehabilitation guidance, helping patients adapt to hearing aids and set realistic expectations for their use.
- Diagnose hearing loss, develop individualized treatment plans, and coordinate referrals to other specialists or services.
- Run hearing aid repair and maintenance clinics, both in-house and at satellite locations, ensuring seamless patient care.
- Perform aural impressions, ear mould selection, and modification for patients of all ages.
- Undertake home visits for housebound patients, delivering high-quality care in restrictive settings.
- Offer environmental aid and communication strategies to patients, carers, and their families.
