Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Specialist Pharmacist to join our Cancer Services team at Worcestershire Royal Hospital. This Band 7 role involves delivering comprehensive clinical pharmacy services to oncology and haematology patients, ensuring safe and appropriate chemotherapy regimens, and contributing to the overall management of cancer services.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide specialist clinical advice and pharmaceutical care to oncology, haematology, and palliative care patients.
  • Substantiate and communicate clinical pharmacy recommendations, ensuring chemotherapy regimens are safe and aligned with standard protocols or clinical trials.
  • Assist in the implementation of protocol guidelines for drug doses and treatment regimens.
  • Support the Lead Specialist Pharmacist in ensuring adherence to good manufacturing practices, medicines legislation, and quality management systems.
  • Supervise and train junior pharmacists, pre-registration pharmacy graduates, and pharmacy students.
  • Manage the accurate and timely dispensing of medicines, including preparing chemotherapy injections and infusions.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and pharmacy service development plans.
