Speech and Language Therapist

Job summary

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join the Sheffield Speech and Language Therapy Service on the Bank with NHS Professionals. The applicant will be based in the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals SLT service working as a member of a team providing a service within the Voice and/or Inducible Laryngeal Obstruction teams, and will specialise in the management of patients with complex dysphonia/dysphagia and/or upper airway dysfunction.

Main duties of the job

• To assess, develop and implement highly specialist speech and language therapy treatment independently, including assessment, diagnosis and management of patients with highly complex dysphonia and dysphagia
• To develop and promote Speech and Language Therapy service delivery within the outpatient department
• To be flexible in working within a multi-professional team and extending roles to meet the needs of the team
• To assess diagnose and treat patients in highly specialist care areas e.g. Head and Neck unit and specialist MDT ENT and respiratory Clinics
• To provide highly specialist clinical/technical skills for interpretative assessment techniques and interventions, including laryngoscopy and FEES
• To perform laryngoscopy
