Band 8a MSK Sonographer or Physiotherapist

Job summary

To work as part of a team providing an ultrasound service in the Radiology Departments. The post holder will be expected to work across all sites. They will be part of the ultrasound team providing an effective and efficient ultrasound service.

Main duties of the job

As an autonomous practitioner, the post holder will manage their own patient clinical caseload of ultrasound MSK examinations. They must be trained and clinically proficient in ultrasound guided joint injections. The workload may also include (including Upper and Lower Limbs, Soft Tissue Lumps and Bumps, Hip and Groin and Tendinopathy). They must report these examinations without routine input from any other professional discipline. They are required to make decisions regarding follow-up scans to monitor conditions and referral to the appropriate clinician when necessary. These actions will be based on the findings of the ultrasound examinations.
